How do we bring about a human presence on this planet that is environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilled?
Using the powerful Be the Change video and workshop process,
we will explored this leading question of our time;
take another step on our journeys.
A PEEP show, "Sustainable living within global restraints and balances" – from a Learning Sunday at Abingdon Quakers in 2009.
Abingdon Quaker meeting has a Sustainability Group whose aims are –
- To look for topics on the wider theme of sustainability that Meeting will find relevant.
- To look for places/areas where we as a Meeting can make a difference.
- To support each other in our personal commitments to sustainability.
Four of the group attended the Yearly Meeting Gathering in Canterbury for a week in July 2011 which involved an in-depth look at the issues of Sustainability for individuals, for Quaker meetings, and for the world. This resulted in an inspiring minute committing Friends in Britain to becoming a "low-carbon community".
